I am an artist inspired by nature, family and traditions. I feel strongly that creating art brings energy, inspiration and fun into people's lives. My goal is to create art to start a conversation, add a smile to someone's day, or make a house a home.
I began with a pencil and sketchbook, then added acrylic paint and brush, and now glass (stained glass and glass-on-glass technique) to my love of creating. I also teach classes and workshops to encourage people to try something new. I have also created many commissioned works of art and my work is currently displayed in private homes.
There's much to see here. So, take your time and look around.
I truly believe that when you purchase work from an artist you are buying something that puts life into living.
I love creating pieces using the technique of glass-on-glass for indoor display as well as outdoors for our 4 season Canadian climate. I am new to stained glass and use the copper foil method. I often combine the techniques of glass-on-glass with copper foil stained glass. I prefer to create from my imagination and experiences not patterns. Pieces may be similar but no two pieces will be exactly alike.
Glass-on -Glass in an old antique window. These pieces can hang outdoors in all 4 seasons of the Canadian climate.
Glass-on-Glass inset in various woods. They include stakes to put it in the ground. The wood will weather naturally in the elements. The glass will catch the sun and sparkle and shine.
Glass-on-Glass set in a live edge frame. Can be created for outdoor or indoor display. Beautiful as artwork but stunning with the addition of natural or artificial light.
I am greatly inspired by family, traditions and the 4 seasons of the Canadian climate. My pencil, sketchbook and camera are always close by to capture whatever inspires me.
Acrylic on Canvas.
My paintings are influenced by the medium I use, my mood that day, my surroundings, and the Canadian climate. My intention is not to paint what I see, but to create something new from what I saw and experienced. Original designs with quality artist grade supplies.
Unique, individually created items to enjoy yourself or gift to others.
Handpainted Stationary - originals - some may be similar but no two will be exactly alike. Cards and gift tags for all occassions.
Ornaments - stained glass, glass-on-glass, a combination of both techniques, as well as painted ornaments. Great for holiday decorating but can be gifted year round to decorate a gift or commemorate a special occasion.
I will paint on many different surfaces, new or old...wood, fabric, slate, tin etc.
Truly customize a gift or a home decoration. Repurposed items have their own sense of history to add to a project.
Commissioned work is a collaboration between myself and my client. The finished project may not reflect my personal artistic expression but will be handcrafted with our combined vision for your unique creation.
